WAKEFIELD TOWN HALL
Through a Community Development Block Grant, the Town of Wakefield received funds to make their Town Hall accessible to the disabled. In addition, the Town contributed its own funds to make some much needed general improvements at the same time. The scope of work included a new elevator, exterior stair tower, entrance ramp, entrance canopy, and interior monumental stairway as well as new service counters, new handicapped accessible bathrooms, and office reconfigurations. The building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, requiring that exterior modifications receive approval from the Massachusetts Historical Commission.
